Our Innovate RAP formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia

At UDLA, reconciliation is more than a responsibility; it is central to how we learn and design. We’re therefore proud to share that our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in March 2026.

Our Innovate RAP commits us to continuing to build long-lasting, reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Guided by respect and cultural protocols, we will continue to work with Traditional Owners and Custodians to ensure their knowledge informs how we understand our role on Country as urban designers and landscape architects. For us, projects are more than finished outcomes - they are places that hold spirit and knowledge, extending well beyond their physical form.

The RAP was developed through internal and external consultation, including contributions from Ezra Jacobs, a Whadjuk, Ballardong and Wilman Noongar man, whose involvement ensured cultural knowledge, lived experience and respectful representation were embedded throughout. Emilia Galatis, curator and art consultant, provided critical insight, while artist Emily Rose, a Noongar and Yamatji woman, contributed at key stages, including the creation of the artwork Ancient Tracks – New Journeys.
