Saloni Upasani

Student Designer

Saloni is an emerging urban designer and landscape architect driven by the potential of design to address climate change. With a focus on creating public spaces that balance human needs with those of ecosystems and biodiversity, she brings a thoughtful, research-led approach to her work. Skilled in design development and collaboration, she is proficient across conceptual and technical design stages, with experience in tools including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion and QGIS.

Her project experience spans Australia and India, from a waterfront masterplan integrating promenades, wetlands and public spaces to work with NewArch Landscapes in Mumbai, including the Ramoji Film City project. Recent research has explored climate-adaptive models for Darwin and Barcelona’s Superblock initiative, examining how cities can respond to extreme heat, resilience and post-pandemic urban life.

Saloni holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Mumbai University and is completing a Master of Urban Design at the University of Western Australia.
