About the role:
We are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator / Design Technician to join our team in Fremantle, WA. This is a full-time position that will play an important role in the delivery of complex, integrated architectural, landscape and infrastructure projects. As a BIM Coordinator / Design Technician, you will be responsible for managing the Building Information Modelling (BIM/CAD) process for selected projects and ensuring drawing and model documentation is maintained to the required standards.
You will also work closely with the Digital Systems Coordinator to support a variety of digital systems and IT initiatives across the studio.
We are ideally seeking full-time permanent or full-time contract role, though part-time arrangements are negotiable.
What you’ll do:
Coordinate the BIM/CAD process across multidisciplinary design teams to ensure seamless model integration and collaboration
Manage the development and maintenance of BIM/CAD models, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all project phases
Implement and oversee BIM/CAD protocols, standards, and procedures to support efficient project delivery
Liaise with project stakeholders to understand information requirements and integrate BIM/CAD into project workflows
Prepare and distribute project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and design reports
Maintain comprehensive document control systems to ensure version control and accessibility
Provide training and support to project team members on the use of BIM/CAD and document management tools
Support the Digital Systems Coordinator in the deployment of IT solutions for our Fremantle and Melbourne studios.
What we’re looking for:
Advanced qualifications and experience in BIM/CAD systems and project documentation delivery
Experience in Landscape Architecture preferable, or aligned Architectural / Engineering disciplines
Minimum 2 years' experience as a BIM/CAD Coordinator or Document Controller in the construction industry or 5 years' experience as a design / drafting technician with experience in Revit.
Proficiency in the use of BIM/CAD software and document management systems
Strong understanding of BIM/CAD principles, standards, and best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
A highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality
Experience in the delivery of large-scale, complex multidisciplinary projects
