Carl Thompson

Principal (RLA)

As an intuitive designer with a flair for collaboration, Carl’s knack is in unlocking holistically integrated solutions that are functional, creative and beautiful.

With over 18 years of experience, Carl has led multidisciplinary teams on uniquely challenging projects of all scales across Western Australia and Southeast Asia.  His expertise is focused on landscape architecture and urban design, with specialised experience in infrastructure, urban development, education, health, retail, residential, community public realm and waterfront projects.  He is adept at working at all stages of project delivery from strategic planning and visioning to implementation and handover.

Most recently Carl has led the Morley – Ellenbrook Line project for UDLA, which entails five new rail station precincts in Perth’s Northeast corridor that will feature enhanced public realm outcomes finely tuned to each place - whilst reading cohesively as an identifiable ‘family’ of precincts.

Carl’s strengths include leading multidisciplinary teams, strategic design planning, managing the creative process and project delivery.  His calm command of many moving parts leverages project opportunities and leads to successful, integrated outcomes.
