The six artworks that form part of the Six Season Bidi Trail were also unveiled at the weekend launch of the Subi East open space.

Led by the Subi East Elder Group and Karrda, the Bidi Trail is an interpretive element that flows throughout the wider Subi East redevelopment project. It connects up the numerous public realm community spaces within the precinct to provide an immersive experience for visitors to learn about Noongar knowledge, culture and history.

The trail has been configured to weave through the site and represent six seasons (Makuru, Djilba, Kambarang, Birak, Bunuru and Djeran) through seasonal landscaping and six artworks by artists Rubeun Yorkshire (Birak), David Jones (Bunuru), Lea Taylor (Djeran), Kam Bin Salleh (Makaru), Dellas Bennell (Djilba), Jarni McGuire (Kambarang). Art coordination was provided by the Apparatus team who collaborated with the six artists, Karrda, Big Spoon Art Studio and UDLA+OCULUS to ensure the artworks are integrated with the landscape.
